This course is designed for instructors and supervisors on sailing training vessels, as well as individuals interested in traditional sailing, and meets the requirements for alternative safety training. Key elements of safety training in accordance with STCW have been integrated with the specific needs of traditional shipping. However, due to the complexity of the STCW requirements, the course content extends beyond the scope of traditional shipping and sailing training vessels. The course consists of two parts. The theoretical components are primarily taught through e-learning. All modules must be completed and the corresponding exams passed by the start of the 5-day in-person training. Upon completion of the practical training week and passing the practical exams (firefighting and MoB maneuvers), you will receive a certificate of participation recognized by BG-Verkehr that is valid for 5 years. After that, participation in a refresher course is required. The course is also recognized by BG-Verkehr as proof of qualified training for wearing compressed-air breathing apparatus on traditional ships in accordance with SchSV Annex 1a, Part 3, Chapter 3, Rule 13.1. This course does not qualify participants for employment in the commercial shipping industry.
