Explosives safely transport and load
Anyone in a company who handles explosive materials needs, under the Explosives Act, an official certificate of competence. This certificate is not available as a universal certificate. It applies to specific activities only. Our course specifically prepares you for the § 20 certificate for consignors.
Who is the course suitable for?
For employees who transport, load, or hand over packaged explosive goods, for example drivers and staff in freight forwarding companies and ports.
For whom is it not suitable?
For activities involving direct handling of explosives, such as installing airbags and seatbelt pretensioners or supervising ordnance discoveries. The competent trade supervisory authority will tell you about suitable courses; in Hamburg the " Office for Occupational Safety.
Good to know: the clearance certificate
It confirms your reliability and personal suitability (§ 34 of the 1st Explosives Ordinance).
Apply for it at the authority in your place of residence: in Hamburg at the Office for Occupational Safety, Explosives Department, in Bremen at the Trade Supervisory Office.
Important: A police certificate of conduct does not replace it.
How to obtain the certificate of competence
Schritt 1
Apply for the clearance certificate
It is a prerequisite for participation. Allow 5–6 weeks for processing.
Schritt 2
Course & Exam
After successfully passing the exam, you will receive a certificate of your professional competence.
Schritt 3
Apply for the certificate
With this certificate you apply for the certificate of competence at the competent authority. It is valid for 5 years and can be extended by another 5 years with a refresher course.
